The Stove and Grate Department at Newton Chambers in the 1960s
Prior to the Second World War this building was the Stove and Grate Department. The ground floor was where fireplaces, boilers and stoves were fitted out ready for despatch. The middle floor was used as a packing shop, then later as a works canteen. At one time Izal used part of the building for Kent Panda industrial polishing machines spares. In the 1970s and 1980s it was used as the Boy's Training Centre where apprentices trained in lathe, welding and turning work. The top floor is now offices.
