Blast Furnaces at Newton Chambers Built in 1873 and 1874
These were built to replace the furnaces originally built on the site in 1795 and 1796. The one on the left made nearly 200,000 tons of pig-iron before being 'blown out' for re-lining in 1886. They were eventually dismantled in 1942.
