William Barraclough
William Barraclough was born in 1836 and worked for Newton Chambers for 59 years. He became the first secretary to Newton Chambers when they became a limited liability company. It was said that his minutes were 'models of neatness, brevity and accuracy.' He lived at Barley Hall and later at Harcourt Lodge. He married Ann Milns in 1860 and died in 1916 aged 80.
