Chapeltown Park Bandstand And Memorial Committee, 1925.
This group of residents helped to raise money for the park bandstand which also acted as a memorial to the men and women of the area involved in the First World War. They are: left to right: back row: R. Brown, M. Brown and W. Bell. Middle row: J.H. Cooper, M. Warrington, C. Merryfield, W. Brock, C. Brown, F. Aldham, J.E.Bolton, C.H. Allen and H. Smith. Front: Mrs F. Aldham, Mrs A. Bell, Mrs H. Mellor, Mrs C.A. Ellis, C.A. Ellis, William Hay Esq. J.P., Mrs W. Taylor, Mrs T. Steele, Mrs W. Hible and E. Archer.
