Ernest Senior’s shop, Charlton Brook. According to the 1935 Trade Directory Ernest M. Senior was running this general store at 1 Mount Road, Charlton Brook. An examination of the photograph shows that it sold Gunstone’s sausages, pork pies and polonies. Also on sale were groceries, sweets, tobacco and cigars. In the 1950s Mrs Brown ran the shop and sold a huge selection of sweets for 1d.
