Lound School old building.
Old Lound School. The original building which stood here was built in 1716 initiated by Anne Sylvester who bequeathed £100 in her will of August 1711 ‘for teaching so many poor children to read as the executor ...... together with the foeffees in trust shall think convenient ...’ The land was given by George Allen, a tanner. The school was rebuilt in 1844 as a National School. It was later used as the schoolroom for St John’s Church and then converted into office space.
