Wedding of Edward Ellam & Lucy Smith.

This wedding took place in September 1910. The groom was a clerk at Newton Chambers. Lucy became head teacher at High Green Board School. An interesting feature of the photograph is that the photographer, Arnie Greaves, has tried to obliterate one of the guests, a lodger at the bride’s family home, who would have spoiled the composition. If you look carefully in the doorway you can still see his watch chain and polished boots!
