Bonfire at Lady's Folly Tankersley Park 1911
Erected by Newton Chambers as part of the Coronation Day celebrations of King George V. on 22 June 1911. The girth at the bottom was 116 feet and it was 35 ft high and contained 185 tons of timber. In the background on the left is Ladys folly itself, built in the 1760s by the second Marquis of Rockingham for his wife, Mary. It was a summer house/observatory with views to the east over Tankersley Park towards Wentworth. It was demolished in 1960
