Mortomley Hall, High Green.
Mortomley Hall, which was demolished in the 1960s, was built in 1703 by John Parkyn. It was built on the site of a much older manor house, the Parkyn estate dating back to 1567. The name Mortomley is Anglo-Saxon and is probably derived from the words Mor-tun-lea, that is a clearing (lea) associated with a farm (tun) on the common (mor).
