Edwin Worthey's shop, High Green.
This was a gentlemen’s and ladies’ outfitters shop. The sign on the blocked-up window next door states that he was also a boot merchant. He had businesses at Chapeltown, Hoyland Common and Royston. He retired in 1923 and died in 1931. He was a respected member of the community, said to be ‘Worthey by name and worthy by nature’!
