Mrs Winifred Morris in Ernest Copley House, Lane End 1986
Mrs Winifred Morris with a photograph of the Queen Mother and the letter she received from the Lady-In waiting 14.02.86.
She was the social secretary of Lane End Over Sixties Monday Club Chapeltown and felt she would like the club to do something different from the usual seaside trips. She thought a day at Ascot would be a good idea. Wanting to see the Royal Family too, she wrote to the Queen Mother explaining her wishes and was delighted to receive a reply from her Lady-In-Waiting. This detailed the best vantage points and who to contact and Mrs. Morris made the arrangements from her home at Ernest Copley House.
