School Lane Milk Delivery in February 1947
For nearly two months, snow clearing became a community activity. Mr Beal, local milkman of Hallfield Head cleared the Woodhead Road in Grenoside in order to deliver milk. He hitched a sled behind one of his horses to carry the churns from which he dispensed measured jugs of milk.
