Group at Ecclesfield Railway Station c.1910-1920
James Kay was told by his auntie, Vera Kay that this photograph was taken at Ecclesfield railway station. It seems to show a group of Ecclesfield people dressed up for an outing. The gentleman at the far right of the back row (with a cross marked next to him) is William Kay (1860-1936). He lived at 87, High Street, Ecclesfield. Directly in front of him, with arms folded, is his son, Frank Kay (c.1894 - 1951), who was a platelayer on the railway. Frank never married and also lived at 87, High Street, Ecclesfield. Frank was an Ecclesfield handbell ringer and also played amateur football in his younger days.
