Polly Kay c.1910
This is a photograph of Polly Kay (c. 1887-1957), of 87, High Street, Ecclesfield. She was the daughter of William and Sarah Kay of Ecclesfield. She worked in service and later as a school canteen assistant and was never married. In later life, she lived with her sister, Ada (also unmarried). James Kay remembers his grandfather, Albert (Polly and Ada's brother) saying that he used to go up to see Ada and Polly, and watch them fall out! Apparently Ada was quite cantankerous! There was also another brother, Frank, and another sister, Nellie in this group of siblings.
