Ecclesfield Grammar School Staff, 1931

The first Head- teacher was Arthur Harrison.

Staff shown are; 

Back: L-R:  Miss G.Elsworth (P.E. shared with Penistone Grammer School) & Mr Loveday.

Front: L-R: Miss N.Yates; Miss D.Worth; Mr A.C. Harrison & Mr J.P.Stewart.

There were visiting staff- Miss U.Roberts (Domestic Science) & Mr E.Lee (Manual Instruction). Mr Horace Steele and his wife were appointed as Caretakers and Mrs Steele as cook.

In October 1933, Miss Beryl Tasman was appointed as part-time secretary. she was a direct descendant of the explorer who discovered Tasmania.  She subsequently married the first Biology teacher, Mr T.R. Jenkyn.
