Lane End and Mount Pleasant in the 1960s.
View from Lane End to Mount Pleasant in the 1960s. The building with the sign to the The Barrel was not the inn itself but a convenient house-end on which to advertise its presence. The pub was to the right. An old inhabitant who once lived in the end house has told us that people sometimes came into their front room in search of a pint of beer!
