Chapeltown market place, Charles Ellis' shop,
Shop of Charles Ellis, Market Place, Chapeltown, early 20th century. This building stood at the side of the Waggon & Horses and was a drapery and furniture store. Mr Lewis and his wife (daughter of Charles Ellis) are standing in the doorway with their family and staff. In front of Mr Lewis is his son, Harold, who died in 1972 aged 85 years. Note the pram on the left.
