Station Road, Chapeltown early 20th century.
Station Road, Chapeltown, early 20th century. Note the shops on the right including Whitaker’s pawnshop and general store. The three clog-wearing young lads look as if they are returning from a day in a local coal mine. The white-aproned figure standing at the door of his shop is below the barber’s pole.
