Chapeltown Midland Railway Station.
There were two railway stations in Chapeltown in the past. The Great Central Railway’s station, dating from 1855, was up White Lane, the line approaching from the south via a bridge over White Lane. It closed in 1953. The Midland Railway’s station was opened in 1897 at the junction of Sussex Road and Arundel Road. This is the line that survives to this day. In the background is the bridge carrying Arundel Road.
