Kenworthy's of Chapeltown coach trip
The main disadvantage of a charabanc was that there was usually no overhead cover from wet weather, and even if there was, the sides remained open to the elements. So covered motor coaches were a real innovation and the society or club trip in a convoy of coaches became a real treat. Members of this party, equipped with all they need if the weather turns nasty, are outside Kenworthy’s garage with Smith Street in the background.
