Sweet Pea Row, Burncross c 1900.
A group of residents stand outside their cottages for the photographer. Is it a Sunday morning with the children dressed for chapel, the men at home and the smell of Yorkshire pudding wafting from the open windows? Every stone-built house is bedecked with the two-toned pink flowers of the sweet peas.
