Lane End looking towards Mount Pleasant.
The view is up Lane End towards Mount Pleasant Chapel at the top of the hill. The sign on the end of the house is for the Barrel Inn. But that is not the inn, it was and still is to the right out of shot. The house-end was just a convenient place to advertise its existence. Someone who once lived there recalled that sometimes people would walk straight into her front room is search of a glass of beer!
