Betty Johnson May Queen 1938
Betty Johnson is shown here as May Queen in 1938. To the left stands James Brookes and then Vera Smith and Denise Mitchell. Betty was Queen Carnation. It was tradition that the retiring queen was given a gift by the reigning queen. Betty bought Queen Forget-me-not (1937) a necklace and she was given a napkin ring by Queen Primrose (1939). Betty still has a the napkin ring.
