Maurice Senior of Lane End.
Maurice married Elizabeth Stringer of Burncross post-office and had one daughter, Joan, who supplied this photograph. They lived in Senior’s Place, Lane End. Maurice built a warehouse in Lane End with a house adjoining. He was a wholesale grocer becoming what in those days was called a drysalter. He employed a number of girls packing and dispatching all sorts of groceries. In 1933 he sold the warehouse to a Mr Willis and it later passed to his son, Bob. It eventually became the Kingdom Hall for Jehovah’s Witnesses.
