Arthur Turton and left Nurse Georgina White
Arthur Turton (1881-1969) at his home, 18 Greaves Road,Ecclesfield and left Nurse Georgina White.
In 1917 Arthur was wounded while fighting in France during the First World War. He suffered a leg injury and was nursed by Miss White whose father was Field Marshall Sir George White who relieved Ladysmith in the Boer War. Nurse White kept in touch throughout her life always sending Arthur a letter and a gift (of cigarettes) every Christmas.
