Charabanc trip to Matlock.
This party of ladies from Piece End, High Green, look as if they are looking forward to their day-out, the lady on the back row 4th from left is Rebecca Marshall. The charabanc made a big difference to day trips in the first two decades of the twentieth century. There was no need to walk to and from the railway station at the beginning and end of the day and trips could go to destinations far from railway stations such as Sherwood Forest and parts of the Peak District.
