Lound School Domestic Science class, 1920s
This formally staged scene of a lesson in the Domestic Science room at Lound School dates from the 1920s. The teacher, with her cap, gown and detachable sleeves all in white, looks more like the cook in a big house rather than a school teacher. The photograph was taken from a glass negative produced by village photographer Arnie Greaves (1866-1934) who walked to every assignment with his camera equipment and tripod over his shoulder.
