The Salutation Inn, High Green with  a group of men stood outside c. 1920.

The first mention of the Salutation Inn is in a Trade Directory of 1861 when the landlord was John Darwent. By 1879 George Hague was the landlord followed by William Hague. In 1889 Edwin Pepper was the victualler followed by his son, Tom in 1902. At the time of this photograph it was run by Mr Grainger. In the Trade Directory of 1935 Herbert Royston was licensee. This public house and its site are now houses.
