Thorncliffe Foremen's Association dinner.
Staff at Newton Chambers were always organising outings for themselves and their families. These included fishing trips, days at the seaside and trips to Sherwood Forest. Even for annual dinners distance was no object. Shown here with their wives are members of Foremen’s Association at their annual dinner at the Marquis of Granby hotel at Bamford in north Derbyshire.
The lady in the centre wearing a floral dress is Betty Gale and her husband Brian is fourth person on her left with a moustache. For many years they lived on Greno Crescent, Grenoside.
